Maitri Mehta, DO
doctor, maker, hiker
A personal site for creative work, writing, and the things I am thinking through.
Who I Am
I grew up in the Bay Area and followed a path through medicine — school in the Pacific Northwest, residency in Illinois — before returning home. This site is not a medical practice. It is a place for the other parts of me.
When I am not in clinic, you will find me on a hiking trail, hunting for the best vegetarian food in the Bay Area, or with a paintbrush in my hand. I believe health is about more than medicine — it is about curiosity, connection, and the courage to make things with your hands.
Things I Make
Mostly paintings, pottery, and the occasional hand-bound journal. This site is where I share what I am working on, alongside the thoughts that come along with it.
Creative Work
Painting
Watercolor and acrylic. An ongoing exploration of color and form.
Pottery
Hand-thrown ceramics. Functional and quiet.
